All Things Bright and Beautiful – Castle Kennedy Gardens, Scotland.

On this dreich (pronounced dreek and one of my favourite Scots words) please enjoy some photographs I took last August at the beautiful gardens of Castle Kennedy near Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway. The gardens at Castle Kennedy are a mixture of 18th, 19th, and 21st century gardens both historical and modern. I am a big fan of historic gardens that have either been restored or are in continual existence with Castle Kennedy having a plethora of my favourite flowers; hydrangeas. The various shades of blue hydrangeas on display at Castle Kennedy gardens excited me nearly as much as the ruins of the castle itself (see below). Without further ado please enjoy some colourful flora and fauna on this grey January day!
