Autumn Aspirations

Inspired by this post over on one of my favorite blogs, Cup of Jo, I decided to write up some of my ‘autumn aspirations’ for self-improvement, fitness and travel. I’m always one for improving one-self through courses and classes and exploring new places – Autumn is a perfect time to start this as the evenings are darker and we find ourselves spending more time indoors.

My love of Italy (I am a complete and utterĀ Italophile) as led me to starting to take Italian lessons in two weeks time before a proposed trip to Italy at the end of this month. I plan (or hope) to become fluent) in Italian as I have plans a foot to one day live or have a holiday home in my favorite country on Earth.

Read more and read more widely outside my ‘safe’ interests of murder mysteries and historical academic books. I feel reading offers a briliant horizon into many different worlds both fictional and non-fictional and I need to do more to explore the literary options open to me.

I also want to challenge myself physically and increase my cardio resistance, lift heavier and do more walking (for example climbing Goatfell as pictured above!). I really want to challenge myself to lift heavy weights as I feel great when I challenge myself to increase my fitness stamina. I’m also going to undertake more solo travel trips to Europe. I’m quite nervous about this as I haven’t solo travelled for a long time so fingers crossed that my future trips don’t bring on my anxiety! What are your autumn aspirations? Do you have fitness or travel goals? Or simply want to watch more awesome TV? Whatever your goals be sure to challenge yourself!
